Remembrance Day Assembly and Poppy Fund
Maple Grove will have an online Remembrance Day assembly on November 10th, beginning at 11:00 a.m. A link will be sent to families so that they can attend virtually.
This is an important time of year when we remember our Veterans of past wars and those who are still serving. It is the time of year when poppies are widely distributed in our communities as a symbol of the peace that was won by our men and women in uniform. Each student at Maple Grove will be given one poppy on the day of our assembly.
We are asking your support in making a donation to assist with the care of our Veterans and their dependents. Minimum donation is $2.00, however, there are options to contribute more if you wish. Donations will be sent to the Vancouver Poppy Fund.
Due to COVID restrictions, we cannot accept cash. Sincere thank you for your contribution.
Kindness Club
During the week of October 25, Maple Grove held a food drive to support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Our school community donated almost $600 in cash and almost 40 boxes of non-perishable food.
Thank-you for supporting the food drive. Special thanks goes to Ms Adams and the Kindness Club for organizing this initiative.
Volleyball at Maple Grove
Congratulations to our Senior Boys and Girls who are having an excellent season!
Meanwhile, the grade 4 and 5 volleyball players are enjoying intramural games.
Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found is overflowing! It seems that some of Cavell’s items are getting mixed with Maple Grove’s and vice versa. Please label your child’s items with their name and division and “Maple Grove”. It’s easy to reunite your child with their clothing/lunch box/water bottle etc, if we know who it belongs too and doesn’t make its way to Cavell’s Lost and Found.
Do you have a child born in 2017?
Kindergarten Registration started on November 1.
Please refer to last week’s blog for all the info.
