Dear Maple Grove Parents,
We can’t believe September has come, and gone. What a whirlwind of activity, uncertainty and adjustment. I fully expect things to continue the same way for the next month as we look forward to potentially moving into the new building, re-entry of about 1/3 of our Option 4 students, and all the festivities associated with Fall.
As leaves start to turn from green to bright yellow, orange and gold, we know all too well that the flu season is not far behind. As a result, parents need to be aware of the following: Please do not send sick children to school. If your child is feeling unwell, sometimes the best thing you can do is give them a day at home, sleeping, resting, not watching TV, so that they feel energized and invigorated to come back to school the following day. Students who get sick at school will likely:
- Tell their teacher
- Gather their belongings (coat + backpack)
- Put on a mask
- Report to the office
- Parents will be called
- The student will self isolate (with supervision) in the gym lobby until parents can pick them up.
Extra Staffing: We have enjoyed having Ms. Janette Wee on staff as she helps with the Option 4 Check-Ins and we will continue to try and reach out to students to attempt to maintain engaging relationships and connections as a school community. Please make sure you are encouraging your child to check TEAMS and make sure they’re up-to-date with their school work.
We have several meetings next week to discuss timelines for moving into the new building. We will keep you posted as we learn details.
Option 4 Learning From Home Transition students: Parents please make sure, if you are on Option 4, regardless as to whether or not you intend to come back in October or later, to please complete the survey that was mailed to Option 4 parents. Complete a survey for each child at Maple Grove. Only one parent should complete the surveys.
DEADLINE is OCTOBER 6
Your MG Admin Team.
Terry Fox Run

“This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Terry Fox Foundation. Given our challenging circumstances, Maple Grove Elementary won’t be conducting a school wide run this year, however individual divisions and cohorts are showing their support for Terry in their own ways.
