PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear Maple Grove Families,
Well folks, it’s been another busy week at Maple Grove. The week started on Monday with the curriculum implementation day where staff were working with the new curriculum and how it fits into reporting and assessment/communicating student learning. Things went straight up from there as Project Chef was in the building. Special congratulations to division 16 and 17 for cooking up some fantabulous dishes. I particularly liked the minestrone soup on Thursday. There were lots of tasty dishes being made upstairs on the third floor – be sure to check it out!
Things went a little sideways on Thursday with crazy hair day. There were lots of fun hairstyles and wonderful hats to be seen throughout the school. On a more serious note, Destination Imagination projects were presented to the intermediates in the gymnasium earlier this week. All of the students displayed excellent creativity, imagination, and problem-solving skills as they completed tasks that challenged their memory, problem-solving, and creativity. The collaboration and sportmanship amongst our students was wonderful to see.
This week is being capped off with a wonderful parent fundraiser for Lunar New Year Festival. We are so lucky to have involved and knowledgeable parents who are resourceful and committed to providing the best learning experience for children at Maple Grove! Thank you to all of our wonderful parents for making this event such a fantastic fundraiser and way to celebrate the lunar new year. (There will be more to come on this in the next blog)
Hip Hop dancing has arrived at Maple Grove as you can see from some of the photos below. Please make sure you ask your children how they’re enjoying the dance. We have a fantabulous dance instructor who really works well with all of the students.
