We’re happy to have Mr. Evans back at Maple Grove next week AND we’d like to thank Mr. Anderson who has has been extremely helpful and supportive as our Acting-Principal in Mr. Evans’ absence.

 

Destination Imagination Fundraiser

A reminder to do some Spring Cleaning and gather gently used items to donate to our Destination Imagination Garage Sale Fundraiser that will be held on Wednesday, May 17th in Room 301 from 9:00 to 3:30!

Please return donated items to Room 206 by Monday, May 15th!

Then all are welcome to visit the Garage Sale  because someone else’s “trash” may be another’s “treasure”!

Congratulations to all the participants in our EPG group.

This was a group of parents who worked closely with some of our volunteer parents (Galen, Karrie, Allison and Kat) to improve their English Language Proficiency specifically around school and education language and discourse.  The group met every Thursday am all year and celebrated with a potluck on Wednesday morning.  Congratulations to all!

Thanks to all of you who were able to come to our year end EPG potluck celebration! To those of you who weren’t we missed you! Congrats to Sunny, Leticia, Keiko, Yukiiko, Bonnia, Willis, Serena, Jessica, Mandy, Li Na, Amy, Irma, Judy, Helen, Tiffany, Helen, Fang Fan, Akiko, Mabel, Allison, Kat, and all the gang. You made this such a lovely part of our school year. Looking forward to future adventures.

Orchid Fundraiser

A big THANK YOU to all for a very successful campaign effort.  Almost $700 was raised. This gives PAC’s campaign to raise $10,000 for purchase of Cloud Books for classrooms a great start.  Watch the giant thermometer showing funds raised creep up towards our goal.  You’ll find it in the front hall by the main entrance.

Cupcake parties are awarded to Ms S. Wong’s class for intermediate and Ms Seebaran/Ms Tsang’s class and Ms Hart/Belliveau’s classes for primary (it was a tie)  for selling the most orchids.

The top sellers were Sasha Bogart and Oscar Singer.  They will receive one free orchid and a surprise coupon.  Honourable mention to Lyla Marlow, Nathan Ching and Charlotte Chang.

Summer Camp Musical

Congratulations to the students of Div 1, 3 and 6.  Their musical, Summer Camp, was outstanding!  Mrs. Humeniuk, Ms Plavan and Ms Yeung have done a fantastic job bringing out so much talent for us to enjoy.  Vicky, Nicole, Michelle, Tina and Imo from Div 2 also deserve a big thank you for their excellent technical support.

Watch for a sign up outside the office during bike bike to school/work.  Let’s see if we can beat our record from last year.
