Scholastic Book Fair is coming May 30th to June 2nd

Get ready to go shopping!  Funds raised are for our Library.  You should have received a letter from Ms Tornroos this week with more information.  If you’d like to volunteer, we could really use your help.  Please let Ms Tornroos know.

Bike to School Week May 30th to June 3rd

Pump up your tires, dust off your helmet and make sure you have a lock.

There will be a sign up outside the office for you to record your rides.  Each day during Bike to School Week, members will check in with Mrs. Peters and her helpers in the office.  If they have ridden their bike to school they will get a sticker to put on our poster.

We did well last year for Bike to School Week, let’s do better this year!

RBC Run for the kids

Total Raised by Maple Grove Families/supporters as of today: $3,026.01

Our Initial Team Fundraising Goal: $2,000.00

There are 98 members of the Maple Grove Community participating in the run on Sunday June 5.

The Race Kits (bib numbers and T-shirts) will be delivered to MG on June 1 – to be picked up by families on June 2.

HEALTHY EATERS AND LEADERS SUMMER CAMP

The VSB’s West 1 Community Schools Team is pleased to offer our 9th Healthy Eaters and Leaders (HEAL) Summer Camp at Maple Grove Elementary (Cypress and 46th Ave)! Register weekly for up to 8 weeks of summer day camp fun! HEAL promotes healthy eating, food literacy, physical activity, creativity, and leadership among children. Designed for Grade 1 to 7 students, HEAL activities include preparing healthy lunches daily, gardening, games, a visit from a live BC Dairy cow and calf, and fantastic day trips to the Vancouver Aquarium, Playland, and more! Leaving before term ends on June 29th?

Reports cards can be mailed to you if you provide the office with a self-addressed, stamped envelope.  You may also have someone else pick up the report card for you, with your  permission in writing.

Returning Late from Summer Holidays?

Important to know:  If a student is not back at school by September 7th and we have not been informed of their late return, the student will be withdrawn and a waitlisted student will take their place.   Places will not be held for students who plan to return after September 30th.

Lost and Found – Recognize Anything?

We’ll be packing it up and sending to a charity at the end of June.  Please look in the Girls’ Basement for items you child has lost.
