Principal’s Message
Maple Grove celebrates anti bullying day:
Canadians everywhere took a stand against bullying by participating in Pink Shirt Day (Feb. 24). At Maple Grove we held a morning assembly which featured performances from a number of our students and classes. It was a fun-filled hour of music, poetry, and speech. Thank you to all for their engagement and commitment to making Maple Grove a wonderful, respectful school. Special thanks to the PINK Day Comittee (Mrs. Tornroos, Ms. Shoemaker, Mrs. Adams and Ms. Yeung). Special thanks to Ms. Yeung for her musical talents.
At this assembly, we finished some housekeeping items that have been on the books for a while. We got a chance to officially recognize Jonathan Eng, Division 13, for his mastery in the Spelling Bee.
Spring Break is just around the corner. Let’s finish off these final weeks before enjoying a well-deserved Spring Break. Teachers have finished many of the report cards and are preparing for student-led or parent/teacher conferences (March 9+10). don’t forget there is early dismissal on both these days. Students will be dismissed at 2:00 pm. Please make arrangements to pick up your child at 2:00 on these days.
