Garden Club

Garden 2015

The Garden Club would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Mr. Naipaul, the students of Division 13 and our parent volunteers!

Your helping hands have given us two new garden beds to fill with vegetables and a new compost to recycle our organic waste. So beautiful! Thank you!

Bike to School Week May 25 – 29, 2015

2015_btsw_poster-hub-filled-thumb

Let’s build a team for cycling to school!

Riding to school builds physical activity into the daily routine, helps the environment, increases concentration in class and provides a foundation for a healthy lifestyle and a lifelong love of cycling. Plus it’s fun!

We’re counting on Ms Bartlett, Ms Sleep, Mr. Naipaul, Mrs Peters, Ms Greyhurst and Nolan, Ms Lin, Ms Belliveau, Ms Corbett.  We’d love to add more students and adults to our list.

Please send Mrs. Peters an email at jpeters@vsb.bc.ca, if you’d like to join the team.  Here’s a link for more information:  https://bikehub.ca/bike-to-school.  There are prizes to be won! We can track our trips and compare with other schools.

Maple Grove Kindergartens Present at VSB Digital Fair

Digital Fair

On April 29th, Ms.Hales and three of her students presented their learning at the VSB Digital Fair held at John Oliver Secondary School. The students created iBooks about salmon life cycles using iPads.   Eric DiGiuseppe, Taylor Barrington-Foote and Evan Newman were engaging, enthusiastic presenters. Their presentations demonstrated how students can use technology to show their learning. Many thanks to Ms. Hales and her students.

VOLUNTEER TEA

On Friday May 15th we invite all those who have volunteered at Maple Grove this year to join us at 10:15 am in the library, so that as a staff we can express our thanks for your important contributions to our community.
