DOGS ON SCHOOL GROUNDS

Dogs may not be off leash on school grounds. Our dog owning families are aware of this and respect the fact that some people fear dogs and that even if you like dogs they can be a nuisance. I appreciate that they do keep their dogs leashed. There are others in the neighbourhood who may not know the law, and are not thoughtful about the effect their dog can have on others. There has been a recent incident of a dog being a nuisance – a dog that did not appear to be owned by any of our families. The by-law office has been advised. The problem is that once a dog has frightened a child, even if the owner apologises and leashes the dog, the damage has been done. If you see a dog off-leash on our grounds you could politely ask the owner to leash it before it causes a problem, let the school know or if it is after hours or the weekend, inform the bye law office yourself.

Start off 2015 with a bang!  Sign Up for Young Rembrandts.

Young Rembrandts

Young Rembrandts students will flex their creative muscle as they advance techniques using color pencil, marker and Sharpie. A Lego-inspired drawing, an art his-tory piece and a composition featuring a detailed scorpion will provide fun, artistic challenges. While a funny pterodactyl character will leave students giggling!

This is a fun and engaging program designed to teach basic to advanced drawing skills, art vocabulary and art techniques. We believe that drawing is the core skill required to enhance future artistic success and that all children can learn to draw. Young Rembrandts provide a fun, positive environment which brings out the best in each child with increased art abilities and knowledge, learning skills, self-confidence and self-esteem.
