Goodbye for the Summer
It is sad to say goodbye, and this last week has been full of events that emphasize that we have again come to the end of another wonderful year at Maple Grove. At our last assembly we were able to reflect on all the memories of the year as we watched the slide show prepared by Ms Hales. We said a fond farewell to many students including our Grade 7 classes whom we will truly miss. At Wednesday’s service and sports recognition assembly we were able to see how much they contribute to the school. We also celebrated achievement, hard work and citizenship. Saying goodbye to some staff members was also sad. Leaving us are Ms Lan, Ms Grant, Ms Griffiths, Ms Mulhall, Ms Watkins, Mr. Costello, Mr. Malin, and Mr. Johnson.
We will be welcoming back Ms Greyhurst and Mrs. Bryngelson. We also will welcome a new Vice Principal, Mrs. Zeitz. Mr. Naipaul will be returning to teaching. He has done a wonderful job this year as the acting Vice Principal, but did not choose to continue at this time.
We wish everyone a safe and happy summer and look forward to seeing all your bright faces in September.

A Poem for Teachers and Parents
I dreamed I stood in a studio and watched two sculptors there,
The clay they used was a young child’s mind and they fashioned it with care.
One was a teacher; the tools she used were books and music and art;
One was a parent with a guiding hand and a gentle loving heart.
And when at last their work was done they were proud of what they had wrought
For the things they had worked into the child could never be sold or bought.
And each agreed she would have failed if she had worked alone
For behind the parent stood the school, and behind the teacher stood the home.
