Virtues of the Month – Justice and Loyalty
Consider discussing the meaning of the following quotes with your child. Ask them if they know of times when justice and loyalty are in conflict. When they vote for their student union representative, do they vote for their friend because they are loyal or do they vote for the best candidate because that would be fair (just)? Is honesty sometimes in conflict with loyalty? Do you tell your friend the truth even if it might hurt their feelings?
“True peace is not merely the absene of tension, it is the presence of justice” Martin Luther King
“Hear one side and you will be in the dark; hear both sides and all will be clear” Haliburton
“A true friend loves you enough to support you and confront you.” Anonymous
“Words are easy like the wind; Faithful friends are hard to find”. Barnfield
