GARDEN AT MAPLE GROVE

Thank you so much to all the parents, students and teachers who worked so hard to put in eight planter boxes. They look very fine. Soon we hope that we will be using them for vegetables and some flowers. Later we plan to plant some espaliered fruit trees and some flower beds. A garden is a growing project and we hope that we will be able to expand gradually. It was a delight to see students so engaged in a practical project. They worked hard, cheerfully and cooperatively.

A very big thank you to Nickolas Grabovac who has put so much work into the design, and into planning the work parties. 

APRIL IS POETRY MONTH

One way we will be celebrating poetry is by having a poetry competition. Students can submit their entries to the office. They must be neat, have name, division and grade written on them, and be submitted by April 20th.

We have also invited students to read poems over the PA following the music listening program.

APRIL IS EARTHDAY MONTH

Earthday is April 22nd, but we will celebrate it with an assembly on April 20th.  April 20th is also “Lights Out” day so we will turn out our lights for at least part of the day. Students will also be engaged in a “Clean Up the Neighbourhood” project.

APRIL IS HELPFULNESS AND HONESTY MONTH

Divisions 11 and 18 will be helping us to promote these virtues.
