Professional Development Day – No school for students October 21.

October 21 is a professional development day for teachers who will be doing self-directed learning ranging from working on their own blogs, studying new phonics programs, developing their knowledge of SmartBoards through – with others, and extending their knowledge of mapping the world by heart which was the topic of last months ProD day.

Cross Country

We are very proud of our crosscountry team who will be representing us at the District Meet at Trout Lake this afternoon. Thank you to Mr. Costello who has sponsored this team.

Gratitude and Thankfulness

Yesterday we had an assembly with a focus on this virtue of the month. Students from Divisions 1 and 16 did a wonderful job of presenting ideas about how to practice this virtue.

Student Council

Student Council is working on preparing a Hallowe’en Haunted House experience for Monday October 31st.

Kilometre Club

We are having a great turnout of both parents and students to support our kilometre club. Students run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. We would love to have every student in  the school participate.

Drop Everything and Read

On Monday at 1:15 pm after music listening students are encouraged to read for fifteen minutes minimum throughout the school as a way of recognizing the importance of reading.

Montessori Meeting Tuesday October 25th at 7:00 pm in the library

People to meet, much to discuss, decisions to make, money to spend, questions to answer and an educational component as well. Come and enjoy getting together with other parents passionate about the Montessori approach to learning.
